Soundtrackcity, onze app voor geluidswandelen is nu TRACKS. De code van Soundtrackcity was inmiddels al wat jaren ouder en functioneerde niet meer goed op de nieuwste smartphones. TRACKS is van de grond af opnieuw ontwikkeld waardoor alles nu supersmooth werkt. Maar er is meer, TRACKS heeft nieuwe functionaliteiten en is niet meer alleen ónze nieuwe app voor geluidswandelingen!

TRACKS, een gecureerd platform

In de zomer van 2020 sloegen we de handen ineen met vijf kunstorganisaties in België; Jubilee, Beursschouwburg, BNA-BBOT, Overtoon en Q-O2 om TRACKS te ontwikkelen als een gecureerd platform voor audiowalks gemaakt door kunstenaars van alle deelnemende organisaties.

Je kunt nu dus meer audiowalks in de app vinden dan ooit tevoren. Met een groeiende collectie audiowalks en vele functionaliteiten verbindt TRACKS iedereen met een smartphone met het werk van geluidskunstenaars en dat op een heel directe manier. Je verkrijgt TRACKS het meest gemakkelijk door met je telefoon https://tracksaudiowalks.org/ te bezoeken en daar op de link naar de Appstore of Google Play te klikken.

TRACKS geeft je de mogelijkheid om geluidswandelingen in je buurt te vinden of aan de hand van verschillende trefwoorden, ze te downloaden of te streamen, je te oriënteren op de interactieve kaart die ook de geprogrammeerde soundtracks triggert als de artiest daarvoor kiest, feedback achter te laten bij de makers en ze te delen met anderen.

Geluidswandelingen of audiowalks zijn wandelingen die weloverwogen worden gecombineerd met de zintuiglijke aandacht van het luisteren. Ze bieden verhalen, muziek, geluidsexperimenten, en allerlei zintuiglijke informatie die je anders misschien zou missen. Zicht, geur en gevoel zijn aanwezig, maar geluiden staan voorop. Dit verandert je gebruikelijke gevoel van lichaam en bewustzijn en bevordert een nieuw begrip van de omgeving. Bij elke stap hoor je de kunstenaar spelen met geluid, experimenteren met compositie, en je leiden naar nieuwe ervaringen. Denk aan een film, waar beeld en geluid sterk verbonden zijn en gecontroleerd worden door de kunstenaar. Bij audiowalks wordt je ‘gezichtspunt’ je ‘punt van horen’.

Soundtrackcity, our app for soundwalking has changed into TRACKS. The code of Soundtrackcity was already some years old and didn’t function well on the latest smartphones. TRACKS has been redeveloped from the ground up so everything works super smooth. But there is more, TRACKS has new functionalities and is not any more only oúr app for audiowalks.

Tracks, a curated platform

In the summer of 2020, we teamed up with five art organisations in Belgium; Jubilee, Beursschouwburg, BNA-BBOT, Overtoon and Q-O2 to create TRACKS as a curated platform for audiowalks made by artists from all the participating organisations.

So now you will find more walk in the app than ever before. Offering a growing collection of audiowalks and many functionalities, TRACKS connects anyone with a smartphone to the work of sound artists to be discovered in the most immediate way. You get TRACKS most easily by visiting https://tracksaudiowalks.org/ with your phone and clicking on the link to the Appstore or Google Play there.

TRACKS gives you the possibility of finding soundwalks close to you or using various keywords, downloading or streaming them, orientating yourself on the interactive map which also triggers the programmed soundtracks if the artist chooses to, leaving feedback to the creators and sharing with others.

Audiowalks are guided walks thoughtfully combined with the sensory attention of listening. They offer stories, music, sound experiments, and all kinds of sensory information you might otherwise miss. Sight, scent, and feeling are present, but sounds take the lead. This modulates one’s usual sense of body and consciousness, promoting a new understanding of the environment. With every step, hear the artist play with sound, experiment with composition, and lead you to new perceptions. Think of a film, where sound and image are strongly linked and controlled by the artist. In audiowalks, the ‘point of view’ becomes the ‘point of hearing’.
