(Nederlands hieronder) On July 18th, we presented our latest issue ‘Play Play Play, all day every day’ in the Forum Hall of the OBA on Oosterdok. This new release has become a beautifully designed English-language guide, packed with creative ‘scores’; listening assignments to perform outdoors and indoors, which we worked on with the authors for over a year.

The guide is for everyone who can (and wants to) play and listen. It is a collection of twenty playful assignments, compiled by eleven authors of different ages (born between 1960 and 2005). The assignments, based on the premise ‘to play we must listen’, are organized into three chapters: Solitary Play, Exploratory Play, and Cooperative Play.

Almost all authors were present at the opening, plus a group of approximately thirty guests from home and abroad. After the opening speech by Renate Zentschnig, two authors did listening exercises with the audience. The guests got out of their seats and the entire Forum Hall was ‘listened to’. Everyone was very enthusiastic about the guide and the booklet was readily sold.

Op 18 juli presenteerden we onze nieuwste uitgave ‘Play Play Play, all day every day’ in de Forumzaal van de OBA op het Oosterdok. Het is een prachtig vormgegeven Engelstalige gids geworden, boordevol creatieve ‘scores’; luisteropdrachten om buiten en binnen uit te voeren, waar we met de auteurs meer dan een jaar aan hebben gewerkt.

De gids is voor iedereen die nog kan (en wil) spelen en luisteren. Het is een verzameling van 20 speelse opdrachten, samengesteld door 11 auteurs van verschillende leeftijden (geboren tussen 1960 en 2005). De opdrachten, gebaseerd op het uitgangspunt ‘to play we must listen’, zijn geordend in drie hoofdstukken: Solitary Play, Exploratory Play en Cooperative Play.

Bijna alle auteurs waren aanwezig bij de opening, plus een groep van circa 30 gasten uit binnen- en buitenland. Na het openingswoord van Renate Zentschnig deden twee auteurs luisteroefeningen met het publiek. Daarbij kwamen de gasten uit hun stoel en werd de hele Forumzaal ‘beluisterd’. Iedereen was heel enthousiast over de gids en het boekje ging grif van de hand.
