Sound UP – SOUNDING URBAN PLACES

(English below) Vanaf januari 2024 werkt Soundtrackcity mee aan het Nederlands-Zweedse onderzoeksproject Sound UP (voluit Sounding Urban Places). In samenwerking met gewaardeerde partners als het lectoraat Music, Education & Society van het Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag, Luleå University of Technology, Leiden University, I’M BINCK – het platform van en voor de Haagse Binckhorst en Kluster, onderzoekt Sound Up hoe de levenskwaliteit in stedelijke gebieden kan worden verbeterd door een goed doordacht artistiek geïnspireerd (her)ontwerp van de geluidsomgeving. We verheugen ons op de samenwerking.

De Binckhorst

In Nederland richt het onderzoeksproject zich op de Binckhorst, een industrieterrein in Den Haag dat wordt getransformeerd naar een gemengd woon- werkgebied.

Vanuit Soundtrackcity gaat Renate Zentschnig in de Binckhorst samenwerken met Justin Bennett en Irene Ruiz Perez Canales van KC Sonologie en Sabrina Lindemann van I’m Binck.

Dit onderzoeksproject valt binnen het programma Horizon 2020 en JPI Urban Europe en wordt medegefinancierd door Regieorgaan SIA, een onderdeel van de Nederlandse Organisatie voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek (NWO).

Sound UP – SOUNDING URBAN PLACES

As of January 2024, Soundtrackcity will be working within the Dutch-Swedish research project Sound UP (In full: Sounding Urban Places). In cooperation with esteemed partners as the lectorate Music, Education & Society of the Royal Conservatoire The Hague, Luleå University of Technology, Leiden University, I’M BINCK – the platform of and for The Hague’s Binckhorst and Kluster, we will be investigating how quality of life in urban areas can be improved by a well-considered artistically inspired (re)design of the sonic environment. We look forward to working together.

De Binckhorst

In the Netherlands, Sound Up focuses on the Binckhorst, an industrial area in The Hague that is being transformed into a mixed residential-working area.

On behalf of Soundtrackcity Renate Zentschnig will collaborate in the Binckhorst with Justin Bennett and Irene Ruiz Perez Canales of KC Sonologie and Sabrina Lindemann of I’m Binck.

This research project takes place in the framework of Horizon 2020 and JPI Urban Europe and is co-funded by Regieorgaan SIA, part of the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO).
